I ♡ Fall Tag

I Love Fall Tag
Now that summer is in the past and fall has fallen upon us I decided it'd be a great time to do a common fall tag that has been floating around the internet lately!

Question #1:
What is your favorite fall lip color?

With dark colors being a trend throughout the fall season how could dark lips not be a favorite? The Bobbi Brown, Tawny Pink, is the newest addition to my lipstick collection and is already one of my definite favorites. The lipstick is matte but does not dry my lips like most other matte lipsticks I have tried, which is perfect since the coming weather tends to dry my skin faster. And how can I not mention my favorite dark, red lip color? My Milani lipstick in cabaret blend is perfect for creating the color you want. Adding more of the lipstick darkens the color until you have the perfect look you've been searching for.

Question #2:
What is your favorite fall nail polish?

Since I have my acrylics on and done at a nail salon the color changes every month, but my favorite colors tend to be black and a burgundy/wine color. Currently I had my nails painted black but asked the artist to create a ying-yang symbol to be painted on my ring finger. The design came out beautifully and I have been obsessed with the look ever since they were done.

Question #3:
         What is your favorite drink?

In the fall I tend to be drinking more coffee to make up for the sleep deprived nights filled with studying. So other than my usual Morning Blend K-Cup I love my Vanilla Biscotti K-Cups and of course a pumpkin spiced latte.

Question #4:
What is your favorite fall candle?

Mine is without a doubt the sweater weather candle from Bath and Body Works. The candle has been my favorite for years and Mostly likely always will be.

Question #5:
What is your favorite fall accessory?

Durring fall I'm not a huge fan of scarves for some odd reason but instead I love boot socks and knee socks. Having cute socks poke out from your boots can make a very simple but cute change to your outfit. Overall favorite: knee socks. Knees socks have become more of a trend lately and I am all for it. Wether it's just for comfort and keeping you warm at home or spicing up a skater-skirt dress, knee socks are a must for my fall style.

Question #6:
What is your favorite; haunted house, haunted hay ride; or corn maze?

I LOVE LOVE LOVE haunted houses. A local haunted house called the Haunted Hoochie is my go to place for the fall. The anticipation, fear, and giggles is what makes it all worth while. Yes, I have to admit waiting in line does give me butterflies and a little fear of what's to come, but I always find myself having a great time with all my friends.

Question #7:
     Favorite Halloween movie?

Without a doubt my favorite Halloween movie is Tim Burton's, The Nightmare Before Christmas. This movie is such an amazing display of art and just has a great story to it. I sing-along to every song and find myself knowing most the words..oops.

Question #8:
What is your favorite Halloween candy?

Twizzlers. I love Twizzlers 24/7.

Question #9:
What are you dressing up as for Halloween?

Even though I didn't go to any Halloween parties this year, my school lets us all dress up and this year I threw together all my Yankee merch and became an official Yankees baseball player.

Question #10:
What is your favorite thing about fall?

My favorite thing is mostly just the atmosphere. Fall gives me such a sense of security and is filled with great memories. Leaves changing and the air cooling down creates a friendly feel and it is so hard not to love and make you want to curl up with a book and coffee.

Nose Piercing Experience

After waiting what seemed to be forever I got my nose pierced last March. The piercing was done at Enigma Professional Piercing, in San Diego, CA. I can't stress how professional and clean the shop was, the atmosphere was very cool and made it more comforting. Processes were done to make sure the stud I was having put in ( a 1mm diamond stud with a flat-back) was sterile and able to be used. The whole process was very quick, what seemed to be a small pinch on my nose was done in mere seconds before she replaced the needle with the stud. The whole thing happened so quick I even had to ask her if she was done.
Well since it's about 3 months later I've been able to change it. The months of healing definitely had it's ups and downs. Some days I resembled Rudolf with my nose bright and red, no way of fixing it either because makeup in the first month on the area would cause infection. But after two weeks the pain was barely noticeable. Cleaning it was easy only having to spray saline solution on it day and night.

I would definitely recommend to anyone interested to look for a good place before you go. Look at reviews to make sure they're clean and most of all don't let the "pain" scare you away because I assure you it's worth it!

Daily Drugstore Favorites

Since drugstore makeup is part of my daily routine I figured why not share my favorites with you guys. Most of my drugstore makeup is from CVS or a Drug Mart which are pretty common and easy to find in the US.

Starting with my only hair care item is the 'Not Your Mothers, Knotty to Nice conditioning detangler'. After getting out of the shower I usually add about 3-5 pumps of this to the ends of my hair, making it a lot easier to brush through and handle.  ($5.99)

Moving on to eye products this has to be my favorite drugstore mascara I've come across. the 'Maybelline, Voluminous false fiber lashes' is absolutely amazing. The brush completely prevents clumps and after using 3 bottles of this I still have yet to get a clump in my lashes. Not only do they appear to thicken your lashes, but they do a great job of extending them. ($8.99)

Last in the eye category is the 'Maybelline, master precise eyeliner'. This felt-tip eyeliner has become the only one I trust and use to do my everyday winged eyeliner. It's very easy to use and does not streak or smudge. I highly recommend this if you're everyday makeup consists of a wing or a more bold look. ($7.99)

Heading into my lip products is the 'Burt's Bees, replenishing lip balm with pomegranate oil'. Not only does this to a fantastic job of keeping my lips healthy and smooth but it smells wonderful. It leaves a very light tint and basically only leaves a layer of shine but does a great job of moisturizing. ($6.69)

Ending the lip products is the 'Revlon, Colorburst matte balm' in the shade 240 Striking Spectaculaire. Never have I loved a red lip color more than this. After a use the color stays on for quite some time, and even though it is a matte balm it doesn't dry your lips like most other matte products. The color comes off easily onto your lips and does not need more than one swipe to see the color, (swatched above)
($7.99)

Last of my drugstore favorites is the 'CoverGirl, clean foundation' in the color 125 Buff Beige. Sadly this is not my year around skin tone color but only my summer one. But that doesn't change the fact I am in love with this foundation. When applied to your skin it blends in well, not leaving streaks or lines. It dries without looking heavy or noticeable giving you a more natural look compared to more of the thick foundations. Most easily applied with a Beauty Blender. ($5.59)

La Jolla Love, day 2

Well, let's just say I'm loving the Cali lifestyle. It's only day 2 and I've fallen in love. Todays main event was a stroll around the La Jolla cave. Let me say I've been all over the East Coast but never have I experienced something so beautiful and breathtaking. Since the temperature in La Jolla stays around the 70's with quite a breeze I grabbed my fringed, denim, high-waisted shorts from Forever 21. Just in case it felt a bit chilly I placed a long and extremely flowy cardigan ( as you can see I feel like Superman in it) from H&M overtop of my cropped, aztec bralette from Khols. Last I threw on my love worn converse since they're more like my kids than shoes. My blue and white rimed sunglasses are from the BP section of Nordstoms which I adore. As noted the wind in La Jolla can become quite a nuisance so my hair was wrapped up in a lose bun with ease. I'm quite excited for the rest of the week ahead and I'll be sure to keep you updated. Lazy Lazy Lazy

Well today has been quite the lazy day! My school was canceled off for today leaving me to cuddle in with a few movies and friends. To start off I added my floral crop top from Forever 21 and added on a large, but certainly comfortable cardigan from H&M. I put on a pair of plain leggings from Victoria's Secret's Pink to keep it quite comfortable once again. Now of course I didn't wear shoes around my house but if you we're planning to leave your house I added on my brown "leather" combat boots form Journey. Since it was a simple day, just kept my hair up in a loose pony not bothering to take my glasses off. Perfect outfit to re-watch my favorite Sherlock Holmes movies!

Breaking the Ice

Well, I've been sitting here for around 10 minutes wondering how to start off my first post, I guess this will do. You probably didn't know but my name's Alexandra. I'm 15 but soon to turn my "sweet" 16. Ever since I grew up and became well-know friends with makeup and fashion it's become a big part of my life. So, after major internal battles with myself wether I should actually do this or not, I decided to create my first blog. You see the idea of being able to inspire people with the way I dress fascinates me more than you'd ever imagine.

Other than loving my style, being somewhat different than others, writing is a big factor that pushed me to make this. For me, writing is such an addictive yet calming "hobby". Being able to write down the over-thinking that goes on in my head into words of poetry seems more than refreshing to me. So with that said I've decide to create this blog to let out my personality. Posting pictures of daily outfits with tips. Maybe an occasional heart-to-internet talk, where you'll have to excuse my emotional mess I write out to find any sort of meaning in it. Mostly what I hope for this blog is just something to wake me up, get me out of the rut I've been living in the past year. Hopefully you guys will like it too and find some enjoyment in reading and scrolling through my, most likely poorly-made, posts.

With love and excitement for the future, xx -Alexandra
